Glass staining is a technique for drawing or painting on glass. The paint in burnt into the glass surface at high temperatures. This way the drawing and colors are in the glass permanently. This process can be repeated in multiple layers.

For the painting of glass, we use a powder. This powder consists of small particles of glass. These are ground with a mortar and then mixed with a binder. Glass pigments can also be sprinkled. This can be done with a simple spreading sieve, for example. Frits can be sprinkled with a larger sieve.

At Make Eindhoven we have various light boxes on which you can work.
