You’ll find Make Eindhoven at the NRE site in Eindhoven, in the former workshop of the old gasworks. Within walking distance of the train station and city centre, our workshop is surrounded by other creative workspaces such as NULZES and Kleicafé.
Make Eindhoven is a makerspace and knowledge centre for graphic techniques, metal casting, kiln-formed glass, CAD/CAM, and all possible crossovers between them.
Artists, designers and students from the Netherlands and abroad come to Make Eindhoven for research and experimentation, as well as exchange and collaboration. As a makerspace and knowledge centre, Make Eindhoven supports (future) artists, designers and architects with technical expertise, guidance and professional facilities for metal casting, kiln-formed glass, graphic techniques and CAD/CAM.
Make Eindhoven considers it important to keep expertise in metal casting, glass, graphic techniques and CAD/CAM accessible to future generations of makers. We are therefore committed to preserving, deepening and renewing knowledge of these materials and techniques. We do this through artistic experimentation, technical research and international exchange.
At Make Eindhoven, new ideas emerge through hands-on work with materials. By combining craft knowledge, technical expertise and an inquisitive artistic approach, we create an environment that enables experimentation and research. Makers are given the time and space to explore techniques, test the limits of materials and develop new applications.
Make Eindhoven collaborates with partners in education and science, bringing together different disciplines around shared questions of materials, technology and making processes. These collaborations introduce new perspectives and contribute to the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
The projects and collaborations that emerge at Make Eindhoven contribute to the further development of the practices of the makers involved. Their work goes on to be presented internationally in exhibitions, publications and other public presentations. At the same time, we share the knowledge developed here with professionals, students and anyone with an interest in the field. In this way, expertise around materials and techniques continues to grow and remains accessible to future generations.
Our organisation consists of a small team of permanent staff, from day-to-day management and the board to technical advisers and interns. Together, they make it possible for makers to develop projects involving metal, glass, graphic techniques, CAD/CAM and crossovers between them at Make Eindhoven.
Advisers
Make Eindhoven works with advisers specialising in CAD/CAM, glass, graphic techniques and metal. They have developed extensive knowledge and experience through professional practice, their own artistic work and education. Their expertise helps makers expand their technical capabilities and develop their projects further.
Interns
Interns from art academies and creative vocational programmes support our advisers. They work alongside the artists, designers and architects who come to Make Eindhoven to develop their work.
