At Make, we work with a custom-built and an off-the-shelf machine for plotting and drawing. For large plotting jobs, we work together with our partner network.

How CNC plotting and drawing works
A plotter or CNC drawing machine works like a printer, but uses a pen, blade or marker instead of ink. The machine moves this tool across the material in 2 directions, drawing or cutting the shapes you want.

Software
To prepare CNC files, we use the native Brother software ScanNCut and LinuxCNC. You work with SVG and DXF files. At Make, we have a workstation where you can create and prepare your designs.

Materials
The CNC plotter can cut vinyl, leather and other thin sheet materials. We don’t stock materials, so bring whatever you want to use. Do check with us in advance to confirm whether your material is suitable.

The CNC drawing machine can draw on paper, wood, acrylic, metal and other thin sheet materials. We stock various types of paper in our graphics department. This machine can also be used to make traditional drypointplates.
