14 October 2026

During Dutch Design Week, we are opening our doors to the public with DAYPARTS. Explore the foundry, the CAD/CAM lab and the glass and graphic techniques workshops. A selected group of artists and advisers will demonstrate their skills with the various techniques. And there will also be some live radio broadcasting. You’re most welcome to come and take a look from 17 – 25 October at Gasfabriek 12, NRE-terrain, Eindhoven.

Graphic techniques

Litho XL: Sunday 18 and Monday 19 October
Etching presses: Monday 19 – Saturday 24 October
Screen printing XL: Thursday 22, Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October

The (zw)etsclub (Kees de Kort, Stijn Peeters, Rogier Walrecht, Gemma Tegelaers and Petry Sonnemans) is an artist collective. They work in our graphic arts workshop every Monday, mainly with etching, linocut andphotopolymer. During DDW, they will be there on Monday 19 October.

Jeroen Erosie – screen printing. He masks screens with paper stencils, so he can screen print without the classic emulsion and exposure process.

Noa MacDonald and Elena Strok – lithography. Time to bring out our XL litho stone and press! Lithography is a fascinating planographic printing technique that uses limestone.

Jordie Rovers – monotype. A monotype is a single print of an image, pulled from a smooth surface.

Alice Schiavone (Make adviser) – screen printing. Alice uses drawing materials on tracing paper to make screen printing positives. As a result, the print retains the texture of the drawing tools.

Chad Cordeiro (Make adviser) – screen printing. Chad demonstrates Kilam’s bike: a modular, mobile screen printing bicycle. Kilam’s bike is a mobile and modular printmaking workshop for silkscreen printing, poster printing for protests, and artist editions and collaborations.

Kiln-formed glass

Noortje de Brouwer – fusing and slumping, glass painting. Noortje works with large-format organic inclusions, fusing and slumping, combined with glass painting.

Clara Schweers – pâte de verre. Clara makes moulds for pâte de verre (glass paste) and fires them. She also works with the lost wax technique.

Annelieke Rovers – fusing. Annelieke prints her child’s drawings, makes moulds from them and fires them. She also fuses glass with sand.

Cecilia Jonsson (Make artist in residence) – glass melting. We add glass to the crucibles in our large kiln and melt it at 1300 °C.

Filip Kubiny – mould making and 3D scanning. Filip makes moulds from silica plaster and combines this with 3D scanning in our CAD/CAM lab.

Kiara Almeida Duarte – pâte de verre. Kiara works with pâte de verre and different types of glass – mainly recycled.

Lorena Miguel and Marlijn Zadelhoff (Make advisers) make samples of various glass techniques.

Metal

On Saturday 17 and 24 October, you can visit the foundry to see bronze and aluminium casting in action. From 1 pm, casting demonstrations take place at various times, given by metal advisers Rino Sijen andLieve van den Bijgaart. Over the past period, artists have made various moulds with their help. During the demonstrations, you’ll discover 2 casting techniques: the cire perdue method and sand mould casting.

Carlo Lorenzetti – making plaster moulds for the cire perdue method.

Olga Flor – making plaster moulds for the cire perdue method and making red sand moulds.

CAD/CAM lab

Doris Hardeman – CO2 laser cutting and engraving. Doris cuts and engraves paper with the CO2 laser. She creates halftone patterns, turning the paper into a see-through object.

Nawon Koo – 3D printing with rattan weaving. Using manual G-code in Grasshopper, she makes the 3D printer interact with the weaving technique.

Flavie Liu – 3D printing. Flavie works with failed 3D prints. Together with DDW visitors, she uses the large Elegoo Giga 3D printer to create large misprints.

Alphons Spiering, our beloved volunteer, will show the modular drawing machine he has been working on for the past 6 months.

Teresa Pello – CNC milling. Teresa mills away the surface of aluminium plates with a CNC machine. As a result, the plates show different patterns of light and texture.

Bo Stokkermans (Make adviser) makes samples of various CAD/CAM techniques.

Radio

Reza Afisina is a new media and performance artist. He will host a live radio broadcast from Make.

Live recordings of the workshops
Reza records the processes in each workshop live and compiles them into a sound archive, which he broadcasts on the radio. These recordings will later be added to the material library at Make Eindhoven, as a sonic archive of each workshop and the processes it offers.

Interviews with advisers and artists
Reza interviews advisers and artists about their work and their roles as technicians and collaborators.

Playlists per workshop
A selection of music from graphic techniques, metal, glass and CAD/CAM.
